A number of positions are available at the new Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health, hosted by Oxford Martin School, to shape the growth of an entirely new field of research field: that of planetary health.

The Council will be chaired by Ernesto Zedillo, Yale University professor and former President of Mexico. Its members will include Lord Nicholas Stern, IG Patel Professor of Economics and Government at the London School of Economics, and Christiana Figueres, former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Public Health Policy Adviser, Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health

Grade 9: £45,562-£52,793p.a.; Fixed-term for 21 months

The Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council offers a unique opportunity for an experienced, policy-savvy public health expert to shape the growth of an entirely new field of research field: that of planetary health. Working as part of a small secretariat located at the Oxford Martin School, you will lead a programme of research on the connection between public health and the environment (engaging consultants/outside bodies as necessary), be an originator of stakeholder networks in the area, provide strategic and policy advice and guidance for Council members and the Council’s Executive Secretary, and take the lead on all matters relating to public health within the research team. A confident and credible communicator, you will hold a PhD/DPhil and possess significant post-qualification experience in health economics and policy. Along with an established (inter)national reputation, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to provide policy-relevant analysis, plan and manage research projects, and create and engage stakeholder networks.

The Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council offers a unique opportunity for an experienced, environmental policy and communications expert to shape the growth of an entirely new field of research field: that of planetary health. Working as part of a small secretariat located at the Oxford Martin School, you will lead a programme of research on the nexus between environmental health and human health (engaging consultants/outside bodies as necessary) and provide strategic and policy advice and guidance for Council members and the Council’s Executive Secretary.

You will also develop, promote, implement and evaluate consistent and compelling communications for the Council and its members and act as the internal communications expert for the Council. A confident and credible communicator, you will hold a PhD/DPhil and possess significant post-qualification experience in environmental policy or communications. Along with an established (inter)national reputation, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to provide policy-relevant analysis and manage media networks.
