Last night, an impressive gathering of the great and the good from the foodservice industry assembled in the Long Room at Lords Cricket Ground to celebrate the winners of the 2016 Health and Vitality Honours.
The annual Roll of Honours - hosted by corporate sustainability champion Footprint as part of their social sustainability agenda - saw Compass, ISS at Barclays Bank and Professor Susan Jebb to name but a few, take home some of the top accolades for their outstanding contribution to the health and wellbeing of the nation.
The Honours, now in its fourth year, kick-started what is being coined as ‘green 2016’ by recognising the exceptional strides the foodservice and hospitality Industry has made to ensure positive healthy impacts. From Brighton & Hove City Council winning the Public Sector Honours to CH&Co Group being awarded the Healthy Hospitality Honours, companies across the board demonstrated commitment to the promotion of best practice in the out of home sector.
Following the success of the 2015 Honours, this year’s categories were expanded from seven to 10 after a record number of initiatives and campaigns were submitted. And, after two rounds of judging by nutrition and industry experts, all 10 winners were chosen by a panel of expert judges including; Mike Duckett MBE, the Department of Health's Maeve Welsh, Nicole Patterson-Lett from Leatherhead Food Research, Nestlé's Beth Hooper and Health & Vitality Honour's Principle Ambassador Amanda Ursell.
Nick Fenwick-Clennell, CEO of Footprint, was quick to commend the sheer number of high-calibre nominees for this year’s Honours:

The Health & Vitality Honours is associated with Footprint Forum, a member organisation open to all senior professionals who work within the foodservice supply chain. Footprint’s aim is to create a community where Food Industry stakeholders can discuss and share best practice with one another as well as continue to change food attitudes through legislative debate.
