Michael is responsible for coordinating the communications and administrative activities of the Future of Food Programme.
This includes acting as a focal point and point of contact for food research at the University of Oxford, promoting research, organising events, managing the programme finances and coordinating the food research network at the University.
In addition to his role on the Future of Food Programme, Michael spends half of his time working on food programmes at the Environmental Change Institute, providing communications and knowledge exchange support for Global Food Security’s ‘Resilience of the UK Food System Programme’ and for the Innovative Food Systems Teaching And Learning (IFSTAL) programme.
Prior to joining Oxford in February 2017 Michael worked as Communications Officer for the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. He also holds a PhD in Plant Science from the University of Bristol and worked in communications roles for New Phytologist, a scholarly plant science journal, and CIHE, a business-HE leadership network.
